Acne Scar Reduction/Elimination

Acne scars are caused by the body's inflammatory response to sebum, bacteria and dead cells in the plugged sebaceous follicles. Clinic'estetica™ has a focused approach which is tailored to the needs of each individual patient.
Clinic'estetica™'s physicians will evaluate the type and extent of acne scarring and create a personalized treatment plan for you which will dramatically improve the appearance of your skin. Your treatment plan may incorporate some or even all of the following treatments.
Subcision, also known as subcutaneous incision, is a means of minimizing the appearance of rolling scars by breaking up the fibrous bands that cause them. This procedure is performed under local anesthesia by inserting a specially beveled needle under the skin so that it is parallel to the skin surface and cutting the tethering bands. This procedure causes bruising but this fades after about 1 week.

Punch Excision is used on deep scars such as icepick and deep boxcar scars. This procedure uses a punch biopsy tool which is matched to the size of the scar and its surrounding walls. The tool works like a cookie-cutter and removes the entire scar from the skin. The skin around the excision is then sutured and left to heal. This leaves the surface of the skin much smoother. If any scar remains from the excision it will be much easier to treat than the original acne scare. Microdermabrasion can finely resurface the superficial layers of the skin to minimize the appearance of acne scars.

Microdermabrasion uses aluminum oxide crystals that pass over the skin and are then vacuumed away. The vacuuming pressure also stimulates new cell growth and blood flow. Microdermabrasion provides rapid results with minimal discomfort. It is an easy way to resurface the skin without chemicals or lasers. Dermabrasion is suited to more serious acne scarring. Dermabrasion and dermaplaning help to "refinish" the skin's top layers by sanding them using a small hand held tool. The treatments soften the sharp edges of surface irregularities, giving the skin a smoother appearance. (Note: Clinic'estetica does not perform regular dermabrasion--only microdermabrasion)

Our is injected under the concave scars to raise the surface of the skin and restore a smooth appearance. This filler is especially effective for "boxcar" scars where several small scars join together to appear as one large scar. Ice pick scars are more effectively treated with dermabrasion. Raised or hypertropic scars (keloids) are not suitable for filler treatment. You can improve your appearance......we can help.
